Updated Cell Phone Policy for the 2025–2026 School Year
Stacy Berry

Subject: Updated Cell Phone Policy for the 2025–2026 School Year

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We want to inform you of an important update to our cell phone guidelines, which will take effect at the start of the 2025–2026 school year. This change is grounded in growing research that highlights the negative impact of cell phone use on adolescent well-being, academic focus, and social development.

To create a more focused and engaging learning environment, we will be implementing the following expectations:

  • Cell phones must be turned off and securely stowed (in a backpack, purse, locker, or the main office) during the school day.

  • Phones may not be carried in pockets or used during class, study hall, or passing periods.

  • All other personal electronic devices—including smartwatches, earbuds, headphones, and similar items—must also be turned off and stored out of sight during the school day.

  • Cell phone use will be permitted only during lunch, and only in the cafeteria.

  • Use of cell phones in restrooms, locker rooms, or the nurse’s office is strictly prohibited due to privacy concerns. Violations in these areas may result in more serious consequences.

  • Phones and smartwatches will be allowed for medical purposes, such as managing diabetes or monitoring heart conditions. In these cases, documentation from a healthcare provider must be submitted and kept on file in the nurse's office.

If you need to reach your child during the school day, please feel free to email them at their school email address or contact the main office directly.

We appreciate your support in helping us foster a school environment that prioritizes learning and student well-being.

Sincerely,

Ms Jennifer Neiman
